...In his spacious office in a Tudor carriage house off State Street, McGill flipped through a slide show on his computer.

With pride, he recounted the story of a woman who had gastric bypass surgery and later underwent a seven-hour surgical session with McGill.

He performed a circumferential abdominoplasty, which consists of the removal of a ring of skin and muscle around the entire midsection, front to back.

The remaining skin and muscle are pulled up from the hips and down from the ribcage area and rejoined at the waist.

"I have to figure out what's going to move up, what's going to come down and where it's going to end up," he says.
