GlaxoSmithKline says it will add 150 jobs to its Aiken County plant to help convert a prescription weight- loss drug to an over-the-counter product.The expansion, which started in October 2004, will increase the size of the building by 30,000 square feet, said Carson Sublett, GlaxoSmithKline's site director.It should be finished by 2007 at a price of $60 million.The company hopes to get permission from the Food and Drug Administration this summer to convert the prescription drug, Xenical, to a product called Alli, which will have half the active ingredient and could be sold without a prescription, Sublett said.
