Premiere AG was among shares that rose in Germany.

The DAX lost 4.77, or 0.1 percent, to 5979.42 as of 10:12 a.m.

in Frankfurt, as the same number of shares gained as fell.

The measure has advanced 0.1 percent this week, and has jumped 11 percent in the first quarter.

DAX June futures lost 0.2 percent.

The HDAX Index of the country's 110 biggest companies dropped 0.1 percent.

ThyssenKrupp, Germany's largest steelmaker, fell 1.1 percent to 23.70 euros.

The company said it may delay construction of a steel slab mill near Rio de Janeiro as the drop of the dollar against the Brazilian real drives up costs.
