"My pant size is down 14 pant sizes.

I've lost 85 pounds, and I'm putting on shirts I haven't worn in years." FOX Carolina's Stephanie Maxwell barely recognized him, and that's a big deal.

"I think the key is when I see somebody like you, and we haven't seen each other for 4 or 5 months and you notice the change.

I think that's the fun part, to have people saying, 'wow'." He still talks to the doctors and trainers at Duke, who keep him motivated.

His blood pressure and cholesterol have been reduced.

And he enjoys going to the gym 6 or 7 days a week.

His daughter Tracey calls him a gym rat.

"Yeah, he's there a lot.

He really is.

Like 5 hours a day he's over there." She has an interesting outlook on her dad's success.

"It makes me want to try harder or work in general for my daughter, because it's like 'gosh, look at him.' I really need to try." Then there's Wally's wife, who doesn't mind sharing her husband with the gym.

She started losing weight before Wally left for Durham.

She's down 67 pounds and proud of both of their milestones.

"Incredible.
