"We have received complaints regarding advertising during the actual news segments itself.

We are working on (introducing) bylaws by May, where we can take action and fine wrongdoers," said CMCF chairman Prof Tony Lee.

He was speaking to reporters at the CMCF’s sixth Annual General Meeting on Tuesday.

CMCF (www.cmcf.org.my) was established in 2001 - under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (CMA) - to govern content and address content-related issues disseminated by way of electronic medium.

According to Lee, there was a recent incident involving a particular TV station.
