When the buzzer sounded Sunday to end the MSU women's basketball NCAA regional semifinal game, it signaled the end of the Spartans' season.

It also signaled the end of the careers of forward Liz Shimek and guard Lindsay Bowen.

Shimek and Bowen leave MSU as the Spartans' No.

1 and 2 all-time leading scorers, respectively, and the winningest class in program history.

But now, four days removed from the Sweet 16 loss, attention is turned toward next season.

"You don't ever replace a Lindsay Bowen or a Liz Shimek," head coach Joanne P.
